What do you all think of the 2 mile busing rule we have here in town for the middle school? (SPONSOR 03/20/08 5:15pm)
This was a topic we discussed with some neighbors last year and I am curious to see what some other people from our communities being effected by this think and how they handle it. 2 miles can be a long walk, especially along Triangle and Auten road. Are most parents helping by carpooling, if so what is that like as far as dropping off etc? One of our neighbors tried to get information from the transportation board about a pay for busing option that some of us would be willing to consider but they said they did not offer that as an option. I think the town should make sure your children are taken from dropped off near their home. As a concerned parent, I would not want my child to make a 2 mile journey alone or with a friend, especially on those busy streets. I would definitely lobby for transportation.
