The Erickson Retirement Community is this right for Hillsborough ? (SPONSOR 07/30/08 10:10am)
This massive retirement comm.is planned for the East Course of Royce Brook Golf Club.This is a self contained 6 story 9+ buildings senior complex of 2000+ and COAH housing 250 plus units.What will this do to traffic, our schools, future school budgets. Has anyone heard of this plan ? There is another Planning meeting in Sept. should we show up at this meeting and let Erickson & Township officals this is wrong for Hillsborough.(Example Claremont Towers on Raider Blvd.) (SPONSOR 07/30/08 10:10am) REPLY
I received an invitation to attend the Erickson Community meeting that was open to local business holders here in Hillsborough, I was unable to attend but from what I gathered from the invite they were attempting to get local businesses on board to support them by offering them the opportunity to be \\\"Preferred Businesses\\\" for the community. I questioned this because the whole point of this Retirement Community is that it is self contained, from medical care to salons and restaurants they are all on site, so I am not quite sure how that benefits our local businesses but it looks like the Township is expressing their reservations about this building project as well.
